About Me
I live in a town house in Reading with my two beautiful daughters Madeleine and Matilda as well as my mum who lives downstairs in a self-contained granny flat. Yes, that’s a lot of oestrogen at times!
After two amazing years working for the Royal Family as a pastry chef, I was lucky enough to start my 19 year journey as cabin crew for British Airways on the Worldwide fleet, meaning that not only was I lucky enough to combine my love of travel with work, but I had the chance of working out in gyms in some of the world’s most amazing hotels and running in some of the world’s most awe-inspiring spots. And finding some hidden away yoga studio in each destination was always on my list of things to do.
I have pretty much always run for pleasure and when I was younger I competed at both local and county level, but it was when I added yoga to my fitness regime that I really started to understand that fitness is about strength, flexibility, range of movement and balance as well as speed.
I’ve been a vegetarian since I was in my early teens, and these days I find myself eating an increasingly plant-based diet as a result of learning more about just how lifestyle, diet and fitness all play a vital role in our overall health.
My Credentials
Having completed the City & Guilds Food and Nutrition qualifications when younger, in my 30s I went on to take the YMCA Personal Trainer Levels I-III qualifications. These courses covered personal training and fitness assessments, nutrition and weight management, fitness for older people, and ante and post-natal fitness. My most recent studies are Nutrition Coach and weight loss specialist.
I now have nearly ten years’ experience working as a personal fitness trainer and I love to keep up to date with regular training looking into new and emerging aspects of health and dietary fitness.
Of course, I am also qualified in First Aid and I am fully insured.
